Fillings
Most people these days have fillings of one sort or another. Fillings don’t have to be obvious – in fact they can be very natural-looking. Many people don’t want amalgam fillings because they show when they laugh or smile.
The different types of fillings are listed below:
- Amalgam (silver coloured)
- Composite/ White (tooth coloured)
- Gold inlays and onlays (gold coloured)
- Porcelain inlays (tooth coloured)
At swiss smile we do not use silver fillings. Composite/white fillings were traditionally considered to be less long-lasting than silver fillings. But swiss smile uses materials which are much stronger and proved to be very successful.
We can even replace your old amalgam fillings with composite/white fillings if you wish. Gold inlays, in certain cases, can be constructed after taking impressions.
Your dentist can now use CEREC digital technology to design and prepare perfectly fitted porcelain inlays in just one or two visits. Porcelain inlays can also be made in our Swiss laboratory. This will need two visits to the dentist. Porcelain is hard-wearing and long-lasting, and also has the benefit of being able to be coloured to match your existing teeth.
